We do not adhere to what appear to be the traditional, colloquially employed concepts of choice or decision (which are far too liberal and voluntarist, as far as has been discerned by this perspective) but we define them as:
### [[000 Postulate]]: A ‘decision’^[The etymology of which bottoms out at _cut._] is a word we tend to use to designate _a specific (but fuzzy) segment of time_ during which momentum towards change is attentionally concentrated, and results in the making of a ‘choice.’ A ‘choice’^[The etymology of which bottoms out at _taste,_ see also: [[Aesthetic interest]] and [[Taste]].] is a word we tend to use to either reduce possibility spaces (“either a or b”) or designate the result of a decision (“a choice was made”). Either way, decisions/choices are simply the attentional moment something changes (swerve, difference, cut, veering, etc.), and are by no means voluntary as they ensue from countless necessarily inaccessible (pre)conditions (when understanding time as linear).
A decision/choice is simply the moment something _changes_ (swerve, difference, etc.), it is not, never has been, voluntary nor isolated within an agent. A choice is the apparent presentation of said swerve constraints (left/right, etc.). This implies a radically different ethics. The main argument for this is made in [[001.1 The Poltergeist in the Machine/C is for Communism, and for Constraint|C is for Communism, and for Constraint]]. We should modulate language to reflect this idea, this is as far as this thesis will go in revealing its ethics _explicitly_. **See also**: [[Decision]], [[Choice sequences]], [[Language-modulating]] and [[Language is music]] for further thoughts.
