### [[Question]]: Where does the hardware/software metaphor help, and where does it hinder?
_These are “could be thought of as...”, as we are talking metaphors here:_
### [[Postulate]] 1: Hardware is to software what organic cells are to electricity, fluids.
### [[Postulate]] 2: Hardware is to software what somatechnological (i.e., bodies, architecture, technology) systems are to languages.
### [[Postulate]] 3: Hardware is to software what the quantifiable universe is to unquantifiable thought.
There is something to dualisms. For a start, we have the FEP dividing things up in quite drastic binaries, leading us to some dualistic consequences. Then: general questions of subject/object. Then, we have the _poltergeist_ (communication/language/sociality as distributed). Then: Levin’s work on tadpoles.
Leading us to this question, and these postulates (which are yet #todo, article is still a draft).
