# 𝓈𝒸𝑜𝓇𝑒
As with most other concepts in this work, the concept of _score_ is employed quite widely and abstractly (see: [[Abstraction]]). Explained in as few words as possible: a score is anything that has _read-write_ capacities. Which is to say that, for example, this paragraph is considered a _score_ (you are reading it, it is _scoring_ you), but, also, the periodic table of elements is considered a score: it displays atomic/chemical interdependencies, with the implication that whoever can read it might, under the right technical circumstances, become capable of modulating (_scoring_) matter.
