Based on the ideas of _another_ Schoenberg—Isaac Jacob, that is—the starting point for this collaboration was the idea of turning sound into an instrument. We decided we would explore different ways in which this could be framed as such. Not to make sound, but to _shape_ sound, not to experience sound, but to _enter_ sound. What is _sound_, anyway?^[A similar question to the one fellow dialogician close to our hearts busies herself with, see/read/unhear [Martina Raponi](https://www.noiserr.xyz/news) on the *unheard*, for example.] How do instruments “produce” it? How can we look at sound as producing itself, if we find ways to decouple the binary sound-instrument dialectic? _Compositions:_ 1. Composition -1: **_how to begin?_** 1. For this composition, we thought about beginnings. Our initial starting point was visiting art-related locations (e.g., museums) as the production of a kind of work. Then, questions emerged about this as a sound-related practice. Where/how/when would we store our “works”? Should these be considered consumable works, and for whom? Where/how is the audience? What types of manifestations are necessary for this to have coherence, continuity? Should these concepts even apply? And so forth. 2. Composition 0.0: **Shabbat.** 1. During our regular meetings we thought about time-chunking. Zorro Fork told Paul Bas about the idea behind the weekly Shabbat event. One should, for example, refrain from reminiscing of the past or projecting into the future. A meditative social stance. No wondering, only being there with what there is. This could be a way to start: chunking those moments as isolated situations. 3. Composition 0: **[[Bleen and grue]].** 1. As Zorro Fork worked on Goodman’s ideas around induction, they discussed the concept of _becoming_, together with Paul Bas. Paul Bas titled the piece Fork made as “On becoming”, though Fork decided to leave its name as _Bleen and grue_. Two emeralds change back and forth, from greenish to blueish. Perhaps a kind of visual sound. Mostly just a one-off. 4. Composition 2: **[[Zorro Fork]].** 1. Zorro Fork was officially forked by Paul Bas. It was the name received in order for some activities to be able to begin. Chunking persons, perhaps. Paul Bas was born much earlier. The story will be told here at some point. 5. Composition 0.1: **_visit to Stedelijk_. BSpline surfaces**. 1. 6. Composition 0.02: Spear. 7. Composition 0.2: _visit to AP_. BSpline archeology. 8. Composition 0.33333333...: Clapping. 9. Composition 0.3: Life doesn’t come naturally to me. 10. Composition 0.4: Uitlopers. 11. Composition 0.5: Flute. 12. Composition 0.6: Garage finger drums. 13. Composition 0.7: Playing spaces through uitlopers. ![[amoeba.gif|300]]
